I honestly was about to cry during your talk. I feel like I had a lot of horrible experiences when I was young, and they’re things that I constantly dwell on, and I needed someone to give me that whole “suck it up” talk. Obviously you weren’t directly talking to me, but I can completely relate to a lot of the things you say and you helped me forget about my problems for once and since that day I’ve been trying to make other people’s days better because I’m a part of it =) Thank you so so so much, I don’t think you’ll ever understand really. But thanks.

Hey josh! Thanks for coming to Harry Ainlay. Your motivational thing was pretty sweet. I usually zone out during these things, but you managed to keep my attention. I congratulate you on that. The funniest thing was that most of my friends were complaining about how boring the motivational speakers were and how stupid it is that we have to sit on the ground to hear to something nobody really listens to. But when you came up on stage, they all stoppped complaining and they were like “oh, he’s hot!” So I think you succeeded in getting their attention too lol!(They will kill me if they found out what I wrote, but who cares) Nicely done!

I was one of the many harry ainlay kids who say the speech.

There actually is a reason behind the ‘fro basketballs and the put the funk in the dunk banner. We host a provincal (in us speak that would be “state”)basketball tournament. Hence the banner and the ‘fro ball

Hey Josh,
You were honestly the best motivational speak i have ever had. Everything you said was amazing. You made everyone laugh and you were able to keep our attention. Which was because you were entertaining. Im sorry to hear about your tough childhood but look where it got you. You drew from your experiences and gave us the honest truth about life. Because of you i am going to try my best to live an above average life..

Thanks for everything you said at the assembly. I wish remember your speech for the rest of my life. You motivated me to be a better person.

Hello. How strange to have others from my school writing comments on this page, considering i recognize names of others who commented.

anyway, it was cool that you came to talk to us. (even though i had to sit on the floor and the kid next to me defiantly ate garlic hummus before he squished next to me) And i appreciated that it was light and funny and wasn’t all “your life is like a circle of light that you have to reflect on others” or whatever. it was pretty motivational to know that someone who came from nothing made a good person out of himself.Honestly, I feel lucky to be me.

well. im not really sure how to end these types of comments. iv actually been sitting here trying to type a casual “ok, well…ill probably never see you again” and trying to find the least creepy way to say “i saw you walk out of the school at lunch in a black coat”.
however, i fail on both accounts.

so I had a spare during my grade assembly, but I decided to go to the assembly anyways, and I’m glad I did. Everything you said made sense, and I could relate to alot of it. Thanks for coming to Ainlay, and keep doing what you’re doing.
