Hey! It’s me! The Guy from CNN!
Good afternoon. It is I, Josh Shipp, aka Hey Josh, aka the man with crazy hair who just took over CNN for 5 minutes. Yes, I too think Anderson Cooper is awesome.
Welcome to my site. Make yourself at home. Feel free to look around. Dig through my medicine cabinet if you want.
Here’s a film I made about the teen/parent relationship. Loan me 10 minutes…I think you’ll benefit from watching it.
Also, I wrote an eBook called “How to Speak a Teen’s Language Even if You’re Not One.” Hook me up with your info HERE and I’ll hook you up with a copy. It shall be my gift to you, my dearest CNN-loving friend.
Thanks for checking out the site and supporting what I do. It means a lot.
In your face, but on your side,
// josh

They asked you my question! So I was technically on CNN with you.

You were awesome. Nice job Josh.
Wow. OK. Listen, Josh – I don’t know if even YOU understand how important the advice you gave in this little 10 minute film is. It took me years and years – well into my 20’s – to be able to see my parents as simply human. It took me just as long to be able to mend fences broken during my teen years.
I’m SO very much not your intended audience – I’m 41, and a mother of two small kids (5yr old, 8 yr old). But my teen years were very, very rough. I live in FEAR of my own kids’ teen years – will they have as hard a time? Will I know what to say to them, how to help without being overbearing? Will they be angry, scared, rebellious (in other words, like I was)?
My parents just didn’t know how to deal with me. And looking back, I didn’t help matters any either. Bottom line: none of us had the tools to deal with the turbulent storm of my teen years. I hope that through websites like yours, my kids will have more tools. And maybe I’ll learn a thing or two as well.
What you said in the video is very real. We may not be able to change others around us but we certainly can change ourselves. It’s the same principle of 90-10 where 10% of things happening around us aren’t under our control while the 90% are. It only depends on how we react to any situation. I’ll show this to others. Thanks.
