Like father like son. Norris (left) and Shipp (right) both at age 25.

Josh Shipp never imagined his search for his biological father would end at a roundhouse kick instead of a hug. But in fact paternity tests concluded positively last week that Shipp’s biological father is Carlos Ray Norris, better known as martial arts and television star Chuck Norris.

“I’m so happy to welcome Josh into the Norris family,” said the Walker Texas Ranger star. “He’s welcome to my Total Gym any time.”

“He (Mr. Norris) welcomed me with strong open arms,” said Shipp.

Certainly the united father and son have years of catching up to do, but Shipp points out that the two aren’t so different from one another, “It makes sense with my reddish hair, toned physique and uncanny ability to roundhouse kick.”

Shipp, a youth motivational speaker and national advocate for foster care, had been seeking out his biological father for many years with no success. But that all changed in January when, during his morning Karate routine, he saw a special segment on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet highlighting other foster youth reuniting with their birth parents with the help of Foster Club.

“I was impressed with Foster Club’s understanding of the complexities of reuniting with birth parents,” said Shipp.

And it didn’t take Foster Club long to track down Norris, “You’d be surprised how many people like to claim Chuck Norris as their father. But in Josh's case, it is the real deal.”

Scientist C. Petrick claims if tapped, these dual roundhouse kicks (pictured above) could power the country of Finland for 74 minutes

“There were so many clues, I should have known all along,” reflected Shipp. “I mean, I’ve always felt drawn to Walker, Texas Ranger and I never knew why. Now I know.”

And aside from the obvious upsides, Shipp points out maybe the best upside of all, “Now I can definitely tell all my friends that my dad can beat up their dad.”
